During the auspicious Tamil month of Aavani, preceding the Ganesha Chaturthi, the temple enjoys a grand ten days festival called the Brahmothsavam. It starts 10 days before Vinayaka Chadurthi and ends on Vinayaka Chadurthi day.
First day, Dwajarohanam and Kodi Eatram – Flag Hoisting.
In all the 10 days, Procession of Dakshinamoorthi Vinayakar with Ambal Sree Siddhi & Buddhi will take place in different Vahanams in the Mornings and Evenings.
On the fifth day of Bramhothsavam, the deity does “Aathma Pooja” which means without anybody’s interference, the Lord worships His own self. After that procession of Sri Dakshinamoorthi Vinayakar with Ambal Sri Siddhi and Buddhi will take place in “Oolai Sapparam”
The seventh day of Utsav sees the “Thirukkalyanam” of Sree Dakshinamoorthi Vinayakar to Goddesses Sree Siddhi and Buddhi. This is such a rare and Unique event among Vinayagar Temples in south. People visit from all over India on that day and witness and seek the blessings of Dakshnamoorthi Vinayakar.
On the day of Thirukkalyanam, many people do the Prarthanai Kalyana Abhisekam also.
On the ninth day it is the procession of the deity on a Ratha (car festival).
During the last day of the Bramhothsavam, in the morning of Vinayaka Chadurthi day, Sree Dakshinamoorthi Vinayakar is given a holy bath on the Viraddha Cauvery and “Theerthavari” is done. In the night Sapdha Pradhakshanam will be done.
